 EMDR
TRAINED

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) refers to an interactive psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress and proven effective for the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

EMDR aims to reduce symptoms of trauma by changing how your memories are stored in your brain. An EMDR therapist does this by leading you through a series of bilateral (side-to-side) eye movements as you recall traumatic or triggering experiences in small segments, until those memories no longer cause distress.

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, MBCT

An 8 week mindfulness group program for those suffering from chronic depression and ongoing anxiety.

 

What is
Mindfulness?

Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally. Paying attention in this way is believed to be healing in and of itself.

Who is PRH Counselling?

Canadian Certified Counsellor 

PRH is Pam R. Hauck. Pam is a Canadian Certified Counsellor. She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling and takes an integrative, client-centered approach, utilizing empirically supported treatments to assist her clients in their recovery from mental health issues.

Pam draws from an integrative evidence-based approach, utilizing a cognitive behavioural approach (CBT) as a foundation alongside somatic interventions, EMDR, and mindfulness.

Pam prioritizes a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that is empathetic, caring and compassionate.  Her mission is to assist clients in recognizing their strengths and realizing their goals.

Alongside individual, family and couples counselling, Pam provides psychoeducation classes in group settings and is  a trained MBSR facilitator based on the well respected Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program founded by Jon Kabat Zinn. In addition she more recently was granted trained MBCT facilitator through the Mindfulness Centre in Toronto.
