MBSR Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

8 week group program + silent retreat

MBSR is for individuals experiencing stress resulting from chronic physical and psychological conditions. MBSR is an empirically supported 8-week psycho-education group that teaches mindfulness meditation as a health intervention. Created by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, MBSR offers participants the possibility to develop a different relationship to stress and a greater capacity for calmness and presence in one’s life.

MBCT Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy

8 week group program + silent retreat

MBCT is an 8-week psycho-education group program that teaches Mindfulness Meditation with Cognitive Behavior Therapy as a health intervention. Based on scientific research validating the efficacy in decreasing the relapse of depression & anxiety and increasing well-being, MBCT treats a variety of mental health concerns.

Mindful Way through Anxiety – NEW!

6 week group program + optional silent retreat

For many, anxiety, worry, or fear are stumbling blocks that can be extraordinarily difficult to overcome. The problem is, you can’t just “get over” anxiety. In fact, the very things most people do to try to feel better—avoiding feared situations, pushing worry out of mind, distractions or addictions —only make the problem worse.

MWTA - is our newest 6 week group mindfulness program focusing on our relationship to stress and anxiety.

Mini Silent Retreat Day

Half Day Mini Retreat - 5 hours

A half day session consists of three hours of continuous meditation practice. The practices include body scan meditation, gentle yoga, mindfulness meditation (anchoring in the breath, body and sound, working with thoughts and emotions), walking meditation and mindful eating.

These Mini Retreats are part of our MBSR/MBCT programs embedded after week 6

Past MBSR/MBCT students (‘old students’) may attend future retreats for free, with an invitation to consider Dana to the teacher.

Deeper Mindfulness (NEW) - FEELING TONE Program

The New Way to Rediscover Calm in a Chaotic World

8 week group program + optional silent retreat

This course is designed for those who have already taken MBSR or MBCT or have mindfulness meditation experience and wish to further their understanding and practice.

Deeper Mindfulness is a NEW graduate program developed by Professor Mark Williams and Dr. Danny Penman, reveals how neuroscience, combined with millennia-old wisdom, can open the door to a deeper layer of mindfulness know as the “feeling tones” which set the “background color” that guides your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.  It is the tipping point from which you can reclaim your life in an increasingly stressful and chaotic world.

Pam is being trained by Mark Williams and Gwen Morgan to teach this class

Mindful Self Compassion

WORKING WITH LIFE’S DIFFICULTIES

8 week group program + (optional) silent retreat

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to enhance our emotional well-being. While mindfulness increases our awareness of the present, self-compassion encourages greater kindness and understanding of periods of suffering. It also helps us accept our flaws and better understand our challenges.

MSC is a research-supported program developed by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Christopher Germer.
