Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction – 8 week group program
MBSR is for individuals experiencing stress resulting from chronic physical and psychological conditions.
MBSR is an empirically supported 8 week psycho-education group that teaches mindfulness meditation as a health intervention. Created by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, MBSR offers participants the possibility to develop a different relationship to stress and a greater capacity for calmness and presence in one’s life.
MBSR teachings and mindfulness meditation is based on scientific research validating the efficacy in decreasing the relapse of depression & anxiety and increasing well-being. Research supports improved physical, psychological and behavioral outcomes including better sleep, lower blood pressure, reduction in heart disease and overall improved health.
Mindfulness meditation is an integrated mind-body approach for accessing powerful inner resources and a way to cultivate being fully present in your life.
MBSR is considered the gold standard mindfulness teaching worldwide and has been taught to tens of thousands of people by certified and qualified MBSR instructors.

Who should attend?
Individuals suffering from chronic stress, illness, physical pain and/or mental suffering, who wish to increase their overall health and well-being in a group setting
Details:
8 weeks of 2 hour sessions, with a half full day silent retreat after week 6
Each session includes practices of meditation, mindful movement, group sharing and other exercises to learn to apply mindfulness in daily life
Groups size are 8 - 16 participants
Free workbook, handouts, videos and recordings to support your home practice
Virtual via Zoom link or In Person
The Training:
During the training, you will learn a range of mindfulness meditation and awareness techniques. The program is intensive and also experiential. You will learn how to apply mindfulness into your daily life, helping you to become more stress resilient.
Instructor:
Pam Hauck is a Certified Canadian Counsellor who specializes in integrating counselling with eastern approaches of working with the mind. She earned a Master’s in Counselling degree from Gonzaga University and is a certified Mindfulness Meditation teacher trained under Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Pam has been teaching and practicing mindfulness since 2015 and is a MBSR and MBCT Trained Facilitator through the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto.
Fee: $550 + gst
Includes over 20hrs of class time, Home Practice Manual, & guided mindfulness meditation audio recordings.
Insurance Coverage:
A receipt with Certified Canadian Counselling registration number will be provided. Many extended health insurance plans will partially or fully cover the cost of this course. Please check with your specific plan.
